GradeZO Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 11 September 2026
GradeZO respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, retained and protected when you use gradezo.com, create an account, place an order, contact support, submit a business or partnership enquiry, join a membership or programme, or otherwise interact with GradeZO.
This policy is intended to operate across the markets we serve. Where mandatory privacy or consumer law in your jurisdiction provides greater protection or specific rights, those mandatory requirements apply to the extent required by law.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
GradeZO is responsible for the personal information processed through this Site for the purposes described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@gradezo.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, login/account information and preferences.
- Order information: billing and shipping details, order history, product selections, delivery information, returns, refunds and warranty information.
- Business and partnership enquiries: name, business/organisation, email address, programme selected, quantities or estimated volume, destination, requirements and other information you choose to provide.
- Support information: support tickets, communications, attachments and information needed to investigate and resolve an issue.
- Marketing information: subscription status, preferences and records of marketing consent or withdrawal.
- Technical information: IP address, browser/device information, pages viewed, referral information, security events and similar technical information generated when the Site is used.
- Cookie and similar technology information: information collected through strictly necessary, preference, analytics and marketing technologies as permitted by applicable law and your choices.
3. Why we use personal information
- To provide the Site, account and shopping functionality.
- To process orders, payments, shipping, returns, refunds and warranty requests.
- To provide customer and technical support.
- To respond to business, sourcing, wholesale, B2B, creator, affiliate, customization and other partnership enquiries.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and protect GradeZO, customers and partners.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.
- To improve products, services, usability and site performance.
- To send marketing communications where we have a valid legal basis to do so and, where required, your consent.
4. Lawful bases
Depending on the activity and your jurisdiction, processing may rely on performance of a contract, taking steps at your request before a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests, consent, or another lawful basis permitted by applicable law. We do not treat acceptance of the Terms of Service as consent to optional marketing.
5. Marketing and consent
Where consent is required for electronic marketing, GradeZO uses a clear affirmative opt-in and provides a practical way to withdraw consent. Marketing preferences can be changed through the unsubscribe mechanism in marketing messages or by contacting us. Transactional communications required for orders, payments, security, delivery, returns or support may still be sent when necessary.
We do not knowingly use purchased or third-party marketing lists as though they were direct GradeZO opt-ins. Where personal information is obtained from another source for a lawful purpose, the applicable notice and legal requirements apply.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Strictly necessary technologies may be used to operate the basket, checkout, security, account and essential Site functions. Non-essential analytics, preference and advertising technologies should only be used where the required notice and consent or other legal basis is available. See the Cookie Policy for more information.
7. Who we share information with
We may share information with service providers that support ecommerce, payment processing, fulfillment, shipping, customer support, security, analytics, marketing, hosting, communications and fraud prevention. We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, regulatory request, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense. Where applicable privacy law treats a particular disclosure or targeted advertising activity as a “sale” or “sharing”, we will apply the rights and controls required by that law.
8. International transfers
Because GradeZO serves customers internationally, personal information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live. Where a law requires a transfer safeguard, we will use the mechanism required or permitted by that law, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards.
9. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including order fulfilment, customer support, warranty administration, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling and legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by category and jurisdiction.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy law, including rights concerning access, correction, deletion and certain disclosures or targeted advertising activities.
To exercise a privacy right, email support@gradezo.com. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify and process the request.
11. Nigeria data protection
For processing subject to Nigerian data protection law, GradeZO will apply the principles and rights required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable NDPC guidance, including fairness, lawfulness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, retention limitation, accuracy and appropriate security measures.
12. UK, EU and EEA privacy
Where UK or EU/EEA privacy law applies, GradeZO will provide the required privacy information, identify the applicable lawful basis, respect applicable data-subject rights and use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Optional cookies and electronic marketing will be handled according to the applicable consent requirements.
13. California privacy
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act and its amendments apply, eligible California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and opt out of sale or sharing, subject to the legal exceptions and thresholds that apply. Requests may be submitted through support@gradezo.com.
14. Security
GradeZO uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Children
The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children where prohibited by applicable law. Where a jurisdiction provides a different age threshold, the applicable local rule will apply.
16. Third-party services and links
The Site may contain links, embedded features or services operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Payment, shipping, support, analytics and other providers may process information under their own contractual and legal obligations.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services, legal obligations or technology change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
